wrestling shoots

Wrestling shoots happen all over the world on a daily basis, so what is special about these? Well, if you didn’t know the back story, you are likely to have missed these shoots from WWE and indie superstars. So, let’s take a look!

The Most Savage Among Wrestling Shoots

Randy Savage wrestling shoots

Not everyone knows that Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage actually had a real beef at one point in their career. During their real-life feud, Savage did a promo that included attacks in the direction of his former friend Hulk Hogan. With wrestling shoots such as “backstabber” and “primadonna,” Savage had some serious words for the Hulkster.

Take a look:

Getting Back at Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio

Some wrestling shoots are so covert, it takes everyone a while to catch up. While most believe that the WWE did not respond to Alberto Del Rio’s abusive video and social media messages, they actually did.

Cedric Alexander came out in a poor disguise to trick Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre. The disguise he was wearing were blue coveralls, but also a Mexican wrestling mask. Interestingly, the design was taken from one of Del Rio’s former masks. Evidently, this is a sign of disrespect and an obvious middle finger towards the former WWE wrestler.

Don’t Throw in the Towel!

Fox and the WWE are not beyond the occasional dig at rival wrestling promoters, as they released this tweet on social media. For those of you who do not know, the towel in the ring refers to the ending of a match between Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho at All Elite Wrestling. The joke is on them though, as this finish has been used by the WWE multiple times in the past.

Wrestling Shoots for Journalists

Current wrestlers and former WWE  employees are not the only ones who have to deal with shoots. In fact, Vince McMahon seems to like a good double meaning, especially for wrestling journalists who’ve upset him in the past.

Two wrestling journalists who have felt the wrath of Vince are Bruce Mitchell and Dave Meltzer, who got two jobbers named after them. Evidently, both were squashed by their respective opponent. Still, it sends a clear message to the people involved.

NXT Versus All Elite Wrestling

NXT and AEW

The winner for the most amount of wrestling shoots this year cannot be attributed to a single wrestler. No, the prize goes to two wrestling brands: NXT and AEW.

Over the past year, the two wrestling promotions have been on each other’s throats. From the pop-thirsty digs from Cody Rhodes to Randy Orton’s personal attacks on Tony Khan. It’s been a shooting good year…

More Shoots To Come?

Randy Orton

I would be naive to say that wrestlers will withhold from personal shoots in 2020. There are many wrestlers who do not hold back including Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, and many others. We cannot forget about thinly veiled brand insults either. 2020 will not be any different. Fortunately, we are here to report the latest wrestling shoots and the stories behind them. On to a new year!
