Petr Yan demonstrated at UFC 245 once again, why he’s one of the fastest rising commodities on the promotion’s roster, and clearly the man he beat, Urijah Faber, was pretty impressed.
Faber posts statement following devastating loss
The 40-year-old Faber faced the 26-year-old Yan in what was the latter’s sixth, UFC bout. The UFC Hall of Famer showcased his toughness and heart during the bout, but Yan landed several, punishing shots and finished Faber with a third round, head kick.
Since then, Faber shared out the image and comments below:
“Look for opportunities not Guarantees” – Congrats to @petr_yan on a great performance! This was a continuation of my 40th birthday present to myself…talk about feeling alive. Im sure we will be battling Petr for the next decade or so at @teamalphamalemma, gonna be fun. Hope everyone enjoyed the fight.
Speaking of Team Alpha Male…
When you consider Faber’s age, and how the fight unfolded, it’s not surprising to see that “The California Kid” didn’t mention himself facing Yan again. As far as Team Alpha Male, however, Faber’s very likely on point there.
In fact, if you missed it, TAM’s Cody Garbrandt had words with Yan backstage at UFC 245, and the two had to be separated.
