Joy Behar Barron Trump

The cohosts of the ABC talk show “The View” went at it on Thursday while discussing recent controversial comments made about Barron Trump. The off-color comments came from Stanford Law Professor Pamela Karlan while she testified before Congress in an impeachment hearing the day before.

Fox News reported that Karlan was widely slammed by all sides of the political spectrum for bringing up 13 year-old Barron while trying to attack his father, President Donald Trump.

“The Constitution says there can be no titles of nobility, so while the president can name his son Barron, he can’t make him a baron,” she said.

Whoopi Goldberg Defends Karlan

While many liberals acknowledged that Karlan crossed the line by mentioning Barron’s name. However, “The View” cohost Whoopi Goldberg was quick to defend the Democrats’ witness.

“Maybe they missed this part but she was not speaking about the child,” Goldberg said. “She was speaking about his name and how it played into what he could not do. He cannot take a title. She was not being disrespectful or nasty.”

Goldberg went on to mock Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-FL, for criticizing Karlan’s comments. And also brought up First Lady Melania Trump’s condemnation of the remarks as well.

Joy Behar Rushes To Karlan’s Defense As Well

Unsurprisingly, Goldberg’s cohost Joy Behar agreed that it was perfectly fine for Karlan to go after Barron.

“You have to have a sense of humor and a lot of these people do not have it,” Joy Behar said in an apparent reference to Republicans. “But why aren’t they concerned about the 70,000 children being held at the border? They’re worried about this one child — who … he deserves respect and love and affection. He’s a lovely kid as far as I can tell.”

Behar defended Karlan’s comments by saying that they were a “pun” while Goldberg described them as a “play on words.”

Abby Huntsman Shuts Down Attack On Barron

Finally, conservative cohost Abby Huntsman stepped in to act as a voice of reason. She said that Karlan’s comments about Barron were “pretty sick and a low blow and stupid”. While also adding that Democrats only hurt their case against Trump by allowing witnesses like Karlan to make comments that dominate the news cycle.

Huntsman also called out Behar. The more level-headed cohost accused her radical liberal counterpart of using her migrant kids argument every time she can’t defend an action taken by the left.

In a surprising twist, the notoriously liberal anti-Trumper Sunny Hostin took Huntsman’s side. Hostin said that Karlan’s attack on Barron was “so ill-advised and quite frankly, just dumb for a constitutional scholar during a very important hearing — an impeachment hearing — to make a joke about the president’s son.”

We’re glad to see Hostin put her hatred for President Trump aside for one second. While acknowledging that his son is just a child who shouldn’t be verbally blasted during a congressional impeachment hearing. Goldberg and Behar should be ashamed for even trying to defend such an attack on a 13 year-old boy.

Once again, the women of “The View” sported their deranged anti-Trump bias for the whole world. And it’s not a good look for them.
