SmackDown In A Nutshell: Can The Big Dog Bite Back?

After a really gross ending to last week’s SmackDown, many might be wondering: can the Big Dog bite back? TLC is just a couple days away, and it’s time for the blue brand go home show. All of the prep for the final PPV of the year is nearing it’s conclusion. What might Roman’s revenge be? Also, what about Daniel Bryan? While The Miz prepares to fight Bray Wyatt in what appears to be a non-title match…we still don’t know what’s going on with Bryan. Will we find out on this week’s show? Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!

Best Match of the night:

Man, I hate to say it…but there wasn’t a really outstanding match. I’d call the main event tolerable, though getting a tag team match that evolved out of the initial singles tilt was kind of predictable.

Worst match of the night:

I will say that it was not so much that matches were bad…just that so many of them felt like they were so short. Quality over quantity, let’s let some of these Superstars actually work a ten or fifteen minute match!

Spot of the Night:

I am going to go with Roman Reigns heaving Dolph Ziggler from near the top of the ladder, all the way to the floor-going through the announce table in the process.

Jobber of the Night:

All of the “security” that King Corbin was employing this evening. Because an awful lot of them ended up getting dropped. And, for that matter, Dolph Ziggler, because he got to eat the table coming off of the ladder. Lucky him!

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

I will leave this tweet right here…because it succinctly tells the story. I know it’s all staged/scripted/planned ahead, however you’d choose to describe it…but it came off creepy and in that sense, well done.

Botch of the night:

Sometimes it’s a challenge to find a true botch. Sometimes it is not.

Maybe this isn’t a botch, but it’s definitely a blooper, and it’s going to end up right here…

And at least one fan was quick to rib him…

LOL Moment of the night:

Otis meant well…

Noteworthy Moment:

I’d probably go with the fact that WWE and The Miz went there, taking things to a whole new personal level.

Overall lowlights:

The length of most matches really bothered me.

Overall highlights:

Not sure I am fully on board with it, but I will say this about that: WWE is doing everything they think they have to do, in order to convince fans that Corbin and Reigns is a main event program.

After the final bell:

Well, it was a busy go-home show. Maybe not the best, maybe not the worst, but we know that the two big matches got a lot of focus. Everything else on the card? We shall see…
