Latest On Piper Niven's Bell's Palsy

NXT UK’s Piper Niven Reveals She Has Bells Palsy

NXT UK superstar Piper Niven recently revealed on Twitter that she is suffering from Bell’s Palsy. Despite the unfortunate news, Niven is taken everything in stride as she shared the information to fans and seems to be improving.

Bell’s Palsy is form of facial paralysis, resulting in an inability to control facial muscles on the affected side. Someone who suffers from it can undergo twitching, weakness or complete loss in part of their body. It can last for weeks and for others it is permanent.

Jim Ross And Fans Send Their Support

Jim Ross suffers from Bell’s Palsy, which has caused him to miss wrestling on several occasions. The WWE Hall of Famer has proven that he will not let it stop him from working in the pro wrestling business.

As for Niven, we will have to see if she is forced to miss time inside the ring. The Scottish wrestler debuted for NXT UK in March of this year. She has quickly landed in the NXT UK Women’s Championship picture alongside former champion Toni Storm. They are both looking to dethrone Kay Lee Ray as the three will meet at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II on January 12 from the Empress Ballroom.

Everyone at WrestleNewz sends their best wishes to Niven and hope this is a minor hiccup in her career.

Daniel Cormier On Nearly Signing Up For WWE Backstage

Daniel Cormier still has one fight left for the UFC, but he is looking towards the future. WWE tried to have Cormier join WWE Backstage, but it just did not work out.

“I got an offer to work that new show, WWE Backstage on [FS1],” said Cormier to BT Sport. Obviously, it didn’t work with the new relationship with [UFC and] ESPN. But, we are constantly trying to get me involved in the product.”

“As a big time fan of the WWE, nothing makes me happier,” said Cormier. “I’ve got some great opportunities. I’m lucky. I’ve got some things outside of the octagon that’s gonna carry me for a long time.”

After his trilogy flight with UFC Heavyweight Champion against Stipe Miocic sometime in 2002, Cormier plans to retire. The odds of him stepping foot inside a WWE ring are not bad considering how his friend and MMA training partner Cain Velasquez has already done so.

Do not be surprised if WWE books Lesnar vs. Cormier. Or, at the very least, some sort of tag team match featuring some of the biggest UFC draws.
