It’s finally the weekend for many of us, which is reason enough to be excited, is it not? But, if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got another episode of SmackDown. This week gives us some blue brand brotherly love, as the show is coming to us from Philadelphia! There is only one more show after this one standing between SmackDown and Survivor Series. There’s plenty of hype to get to, for the brand specific matches and of course the brand versus brand versus brand clashes that are heading our way. So without any more delays, let’s crack open this week’s Nutshell!
Best Match of the night:
This is a tough one…I don’t feel as though there was a standout match per se…several were good though.
I liked the Ali/Gable versus Roode/Ziggler deal (yes, I just cannot call Gable by that insanely goofy new moniker).
The tag championship match was entertaining because of what happened, and then we had the 8 woman NXT versus SmackDown tilt which was fun while it lasted.

Worst match of the night:
Wasn’t really a match, but the Strowman squash of B Team was a waste. Gulak was, I guess, out there to get some hometown love?
Star of the Night
I guess I will take Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt, though to be honest I am not really married to them as my stars. Convince me it’s someone else’s spot…

Jobber of the Night:
B Team, and it wasn’t even a debate. I guess it’s good work if you can get it?
Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:
Maybe it shouldn’t be, but the NXT invasions are probably as close as there was to one of these tonight. And to be honest, they were decent enough. Was especially fond of the Undisputed Era’s appearance.
This is OUR era. Everybody on #SmackDown #RAW & #NXT just happen to be living in it. https://t.co/07GDMOQiPM

Noteworthy Moment:
So we have our SmackDown title match for Survivor Series, and a new belt too.
Bray Wyatt, newly minted Universal Champion, will take on Daniel Bryan. And the belt is now blue to match the brand.
Does @WWEBrayWyatt accept @WWEDanielBryan‘s #UniversalChampionship challenge?

Overall lowlights:
I guess if you aren’t a fan of non-endings, you had a complaint or two to make tonight.
Overall highlights:
It will be tough, I think, following Survivor Series-because then we lose the reasons for the cross-band beatdowns. The brawls tonight between NXT and SmackDown were the best of the best for me this evening.
After the final bell:
Last few main roster shows have turned into can’t miss programming. Much, if not all, is due to NXT arriving. That move could help ratings in the short term, but I am very curious to see how WWE thinks that is sustainable. Either way, enjoy things as they are, while they last.
