Dan Hooker has been booked for another, can’t miss fight, and it will happen in his hometown of Auckland, New Zealand.

UFC Auckland’s headliner

Recently the UFC announced that Hooker will battle fellow lightweight contender, Paul Felder, at the promotion’s February 23rd card in Auckland. The bout will serve as the main event.

Hooker (19-8) is coming off a decision win over Al Iaquinta at UFC 243 in October, which followed his KO win over James Vick in July. The only man who has defeated “The Hangman” in his last five outings is Edson Barboza.

Felder (17-4), meanwhile, recorded a split decision win over Barboza in September, and “The Irish Dragon” is also 4-1 in his last 5 bouts.

Hooker sends a warning shot Felder’s way

After the official word for the bout came out, Hooker delivered the warning below to Felder:

So, as noted above, this is a fight that is extremely, extremely promising on paper. Both men are aggressive, talented and dangerous strikers.

It’s also an important fight from a rankings’ perspective, as Felder’s ranked #6 and Hooker is #7.
