Former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather and UFC president Dana White sparked rumors of a potential working relationship when they showed up sitting next to each other at a recent NBA game.

Mayweather went ahead and took the guess work out, posting that he is returning in 2020 and working with the UFC.

“Coming out of retirement in 2020,” Mayweather stated in one post.

In another one, showing the two at a Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Clippers game, Mayweather added “Dana White and I working together again to bring the world another spectacular event in 2020.”

Back in 2017, White and the UFC were part of the team that promoted the Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing match. White, a long-time fan of boxing, has stated that he would like to create a boxing division to promote.

Mayweather and Mayweather Promotions have done just that in the past, and this could be the start of a relationship between the two. There would be no better way to break into the world of boxing than by having Mayweather compete on a card.

Mayweather’s 2017 10th-round TKO victory over McGregor improved his record to 50-0. He retired in 2015 holding the WBA (super), WBC, The Ring and the lineal welterweight titles after defeating Andre Berto.

Last December, Mayweather faced Tenshin Nasukawa, a kickboxing sensation, at Rizin Fighting Federation’s New Year’s Eve event in Japan. The three-round exhibition was stopped in the first round after Mayweather knocked Nasukawa down three times.
