Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz Countdown, Fight Replay

With the UFC taking the weekend off – and next weekend, as well – the boxing world will headline combat sports.

Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz square off for a second time on Saturday night.

Wilder will be defending his WBC heavyweight title, a belt he won in 2015 and retained in 2018 with a 10th round TKO victory over Ortiz. Earlier this year, he stopped Dominic Breazeale in the first round.

Also in 2018, Wilder battled Tyson Fury to a split draw, resulting in him keeping his title and a rematch being in the works. That continues to be the case, but the two are expected to meet in 2020 should Wilder get past Ortiz.

Ortiz has lost just once in 34 career bouts, the defeat to Wilder. Since that, he has earned three consecutive wins, including finishes over Travis Kauffman and Razvan Cojanu.

Deontay Wilder Vs. Luis Ortiz I

Undefeated heavyweight world champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder retained his WBC title in his seventh defense with a 10th round knockout over unbeaten challenger Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz.

The bout took place on Showtime from the Barclays Center in March of 2018. The two square off in a rematch this Saturday night from Las Vegas for the WBC heavyweight title once again.

Deontay Wilder Detains Strategy For Luis Ortiz Rematch

Leo Santa Cruz And Miguel Flores Fighting Words

Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz for the WBC heavyweight title in a rematch is not the only title fight set for Saturday night.

Leo Santa Cruz, the reigning featherweight champion, will meet Miguel Flores for the vacant WBA super featherweight belt in a scheduled 12-round bout in the super featherweight division.

Also, Brandon Figueroa defends his super bantamweight title against Julio Ceja and Luis Nery meets Emmanuel Rodriguez for the WBC silver bantamweight belt.
