Conor McGregor is well accustomed to being called out, after all, a bout with the star is typically a life changing event. Now Yair Rodriguez has called for a fight with the former UFC champ, and it he’s done so in a pretty memorable manner.

Rodriguez’s recent run

“Pantera” has been in the news a fair bit in recent weeks, on account of his two bouts with Jeremy Stephens. The featherweights fought at UFC Mexico City last month, but the highly anticipated bout ended in disastrous fashion. Stephens took an eye poke moments into the fight, and was ruled ineligible to continue. Afterward, Rodriguez questioned whether Stephens could have, in fact continued, and a things got pretty intense after that.

The two were booked for a rematch at UFC Boston earlier this month, and Rodriguez took the thrilling fight via decision.

Rodriguez calls out McGregor

Well, as it stands right now, it’s not clear what’s going to be next for the 27-year-old Rodriguez. But, recently he posted the comments and video clip below, in an effort to secure a fight with McGregor:

St. McGregor ” @thenotoriousmma make me the miracle. .
The miracle of facing the biggest fans in this world. .
Mexico ?? vs Ireland ??

“San McGregor” @thenotoriousmma hazme el milagro. .
El milagro de enfrentar a los más grandes fans de este mundo.

Now, there’s no question that McGregor vs. Rodriquez has must-see written all over it, from a stylistic perspective. But, Rodriguez hasn’t been competing at lightweight, and more recently it’s been reported that Donald Cerrone is the front-runner to be McGregor’s next fight. So, it would be pretty surprising if “Pantera” and the “Notorious” one fought anytime too soon.
