The UFC heads over to Singapore for UFC Fight Night 162 Saturday morning. In the main event, Demian Maia and former Bellator champion Ben Askren square off.
It will be a sort of homecoming for Askren, as he previously competed for the Asian-based ONE Championship. There, the former Olympic wrestler also captured gold in winning the welterweight title.
Maia and Askren will compete in a five-round main event live on ESPN+ from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
The card has been hit hard by injuries, as Jarjis Danho, Yan Xiaonan, Ian Heinisch and Karol Rosa have all been forced out of planned fights. Danho was scheduled to meet Greg Hardy, Xiaonon to face Ashley Yoder, Heinisch to meet Brad Tavares and Rosa to battle Julia Avila.

Watch Demian Maia’s Performance of the Night victory over Carlos Condit from 2016 ahead of his main event matchup with Ben Askren at UFC Fight Night Singapore coming up this weekend.
Maia earned a submission victory over the former interim UFC welterweight champion in the main event on FOX. The win was part of a seven-fight win streak for the Brazilian that included a split decision victory vs. Jorge Masvidal.
Since a three-fight losing skid between 2017=18, Maia has won two in a row over Lyman Good and Anthony Rocco Martin.

UFC Fight Night 162: Maia Vs. Askren Fight Card
The prelims kickoff at 5 a.m. ET with the main card set for 8 a.m. ET. This will mark the 20th event to air already on ESPN+ since the UFC signed a long-term deal with the network.
It also marks the first UFC event in Singapore since 2018. That card took place in the same building in Kallang and was headlined by Donald Cerrone vs. Leon Edwards. The attendance was announced at just over 6,400.
