Ronda Rousey’s In-Ring Return

Triple H On Ronda Rousey: “She’s Coming Back”

Triple H: Ronda Rousey's "Coming Back"

Right now, the only place you can see Ronda Rousey on new WWE content is E!’s Total Divas. But, that does not mean her days inside a wrestling ring are over. During the Crown Jewel press conference, Rousey’s return was mentioned and Triple H simply said “she’s coming back.”

Rousey’s last WWE performance was at WrestleMania 35, but there was talk going back to last summer that her future was uncertain. Rumors have been swirling that Rousey wants to start a family and that is the reason for her hiatus.

The last time fans saw Rousey, she suffered the only singles loss of her pro wrestling career in the main event of WrestleMania 35. Becky Lynch pinned Rousey, but it was later shown on replay that the former UFC Champion got her shoulders up before the three count. The finish was apparently botched, but WWE could always use that angle as a way to bring Rousey right back into the title picture with Lynch.

While Triple H did not elaborate on when Rousey would return, he went with the familiar line of ‘sooner rather than later.’ With Fox now having a major say in WWE and with them looking to bring in outside names like Tyson Fury, Rousey popping on SmackDown seems possible.

Ember Moon Out With An Injury

Speaking of the female superstars, missing from action in recent months has been Ember Moon. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted how the former NXT Women’s Champion is dealing with injury involving her ankle or achilles. Typically, an ankle injury takes a few months to heal while the achilles can take a superstar out for an entire year.

“The War Goddess” was hurt earlier in the year, but returned to action within a few months. Since then, her biggest storylines were competing in the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35, losing a Money in the Bank Ladder Match and then being unsuccessful in her attempt to dethrone Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam; which also marked her first singles match on a WWE pay per view. While possibility not related to the lack of push, Vince McMahon is apparently not a fan of Moon.

Fans last saw Moon in September, where she lost to Lacey Evans on RAW. As of now, WWE has not disclosed the extent of the injury or how long Moon will be out of action.
