Kanye West James Corden Late Late Show airpool karaoke version of carpool karaoke

Kanye West always manages to do things in a big way, his conversion to Christianity included. So, rather than doing carpool karaoke with James Corden, he dialed it up a notch and did ‘airpool karaoke‘ so his gospel choir could be included in what amounts to a very powerful Christian message that could reach millions of Americans thanks to “The Late Late Show”.

I was a skeptic but this made me a believer.

Jesus Is King

Kanye’s gospel album “Jesus Is King” has been trending on streaming services since it was released last week. This performance and conversation with “The Late Late Show” host James Corden is a great example as to why that is happening.

Kanye has a powerful story to share of God’s love and redemption. And if God can use Kanye West to spread His message, he can use any of us no matter what our past involves.

In a review of Kanye’s “Jesus Is King” album, Oliver Wang of NPR states:

…it says something that in its first few seconds West can momentarily make the listener forget it all. Jesus Is King opens as well as any West album of the decade with “Every Hour,” a rousing, exuberant convocation lead by his Sunday Service choir.

Kanye’s Conversion To Christianity

If you are at all skeptical about the rapper’s conversion, the full Kanye West Airpool Karaoke video at the bottom of this article is worth the watch.

The 21-time Grammy award winner is rather genuine about how God has always had a plan for him, even when he struggled through a mental breakdown.

Kanye hopes people recognize that if he can change his life and turn to God, they can too. God will always accept us, no matter what appears in our rearview mirror.

“God’s always had a plan for me and he wanted to use me, but I think he wanted me to suffer more and wanted people to see my suffering and see my pain and put stigmas on me and have me go through all the human experiences,” the Christian rapper told Corden.

“So now, when I talk about how Jesus saved me, more people can relate to that experience. If it was just, ‘We grew up with this guy and he’s a superstar’, it’s less compelling than this guy who had a mental breakdown and this guy was in debt,” he continued.

Not many entertainers at Kanye’s level have had such a public and sudden conversion.

The rap mogul seems incredibly honest about his path to God and it really shines through during his unique twist on the popular “Late Late Show” carpool karaoke segment.

While I struggled with accepting that this is genuine, I no longer do.

Kanye’s Faith-Based Message Is Reaching Millions

He has brought God’s message to millions who otherwise would have ignored it. He’s making loving God cool to many people.

He even got James Corden to spend almost twenty minutes talking about Christianity and singing gospel music, like “Jesus Walks.”

God certainly is using Kanye and we are reaping the rewards.

I promise you won’t regret watching the entire video. Enjoy!
