Recently Anthony Johnson turned heads throughout MMA by relaying he still hopes to battle Jon Jones in his comeback run. Well, not surprisingly, the news got back to the light-heavyweight champ and he’s already responded.
Johnson’s comments about fighting Jones
When Johnson first announced his plans to return to the Octagon, the expectation was that he’d do so at heavyweight. If you’ve seen recent pics of Johnson you know that he’s absolutely massive, and he had talked about fighting at heavyweight. But, in a recent interview with Brendan Schaub, Johnson reported that if he thinks he can make the cut to light-heavyweight, he wants to finally battle Jones.
The champ responds to Johnson
Well, Johnson’s comments made headlines throughout MMA, and they clearly got back to Jones. Recently the renowned fighter tweeted out this:

So, if Johnson can score a win in his Octagon return, and make the cut to 205, don’t be surprised if the UFC takes a long look at making this fight happen.
