WWE Commentary Shake-up: Mike Adamle to Call Raw Solo!

Fans of professional sports-entertaining are abuzz with excitement over the announcement that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has shuffled its commentary teams, with the biggest revelation being that the company’s flagship program, Monday Night Raw, will be called solely by Mike Adamle.

Adamle, a former general manager of Raw and widely considered the best play-by-play man in the history of the business, will debut as Raw’s lone announcer during this week’s “season premiere” Raw.

Mike Adamle will provide color commentary, play-by-play, and whatever Renee Young has been doing.

In case you’ve forgotten during the long hiatus since the finale of Raw’s previous season, commentary on the show was previously handled by Michael Cole and a pair of bickering elderly spouses (who unnoticeably replaced Corey Graves and Renee Young months ago).

Undoubtedly a future WWE Hall of Famer, Adamle is known for his compelling, eloquent commentary, whether describing the acrobatic feats of Jeff Harvey or the hellraising fury of Cold Stone Steve Awesome.

In other changes to WWE commentary:

  • Renee Young will be replaced by a smartphone app that shouts “Oh no!” at random moments
  • Mauro Ranallo has been released due to his “small vocabulary and monotone style”
  • Smackdown will be called by the “dream team” of Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, Jonathan Coachman, Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine
  • 205 Live will just be the same re-run every week, on the assumption that nobody will notice

In a statement, Adamle said he is “extremely excited to call the in-ring action of Superstars like “Beastmaster” Seth Roland, Brawny Strawman, and “The Find” Brad Wyatt.
