Misha Cirkunov returned to the win column tonight in electrifying fashion, by handing Jim Crute his first loss via a jaw-dropping, submission.

Misha Cirkunov electrified the crowd tonight at UFC Vancouver, by taking out Jim Crute with a rarely seen, Peruvian neck-tie submission.

Round one

Cirkunov came out firing kicks and then took Crute down with an explosive, double-leg. Cirkunov passed into Crute’s guard and started looking to secure a crucifix. Moments later, Cirkunov moved into mount but Crute exploded out and up.

The action spilled back to the floor, and a cut opened up under Cirkunov’s left eye. Crute started firing down hammer fist, but Cirkunov countered with a nice sweep. From there, Cirkunov dropped into a Peruvian neck-tie choke and Crute tapped out, prompting roars from the Vancouver crowd. Wow.
