UFC Fight Night 158 Features Donald Cerrone-Justin Gaethje

Last weekend, the UFC gave us Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Dustin Poirier for the unified UFC lightweight championship.

Now, seven days later, we are blessed with another “Fight of the Year” candidate.

Donald Cerrone and Justin Gaethje will headline UFC Fight Night 158 from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada live on ESPN+. It marks the 16th Fight Night event to air on the all-digital ESPN service.

With Nurmagomedov cementing his status atop the lightweight division, and with Tony Ferguson likely the next contender, now is the time to make a name for yourself at 155 pounds. And believe me, both Cerrone and Gaethje can do just that.

“Cowboy” Prepares To Make Octagon Walk Again

Get a load of these numbers from “Cowboy,” a former title challenger. The owns six “Fight of the Night” honors, three “Knockout of the Night” performances of two “Submission of the Nights.” Since the UFC moved to giving our performance honors, he has claimed seven of those, giving him a promotion-record 18 fight-night bonuses.

Thirty-twos before Cerrone has stepped inside the Octagon, tied for the most with Jim Miller. He fought six times over a 12-month period and owns the second-most victories in lightweight history at 17.

A second round loss this past June to Ferguson halted his three-fight run and move to compete for UFC gold once more.

“The Highlight” Ready To Add Another Reel To Film

Gaethje is a former World Series of Fighting champion and has earned either “Fight of the Night” or “Performance of the Night” status in all five of his UFC bouts. He is on a two-fight win streak, having finished both Edson Barboza and James Vick in the opening two minutes after losses to Poirier and Eddie Alvarez.

Needless to say, if these two thrilling veterans fail to blow the roof off in Vancouver, we better check the pulse of each man because they are more than willing to swing away and entertain the fans.
