Stipe Miocic

Colby Covington is no stranger to controversy, and has feuded with more than a few fighters on the UFC roster. While Stipe Miocic isn’t verbally trashing “Chaos”, or saying anything too menacing…yet, it does sound like the UFC’s heavyweight champ may have an issue with Covington.

Covington’s latest headlines

If you’ve been following all the recent drama that’s been tied to Covington, then you know he’s been trashing the UFC, over what the apparently offered him to fight Kamaru Usman (and Covington has also continued to take digs at the welterweight champ during this time).

In recent weeks, Covington has also got into it with his now, apparently ex-buddy, Jorge Masvidal. All this has transpired as the UFC was putting together it’s November 2nd card in New York City, and after failing to book Usman – Covington, it went with Nate Diaz – Masvidal.

Miocic’s recent comments about Covington

Well, in a recent interview Miocic did with 77 WABC, the heavyweight champ was asked about Covington. The Cleveland star made this interesting revelation while discussing Colby, and what allegedly transpired at UFC 241 (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“I’m not talking about that kid. I’m kinda upset with that kid. He was saying stuff to my wife, after my fight. I’m gonna have to talk to him about that. I’m not trying to start anything here, I’m just saying, a normal conversation. I’m not gonna go out and take his head off. I just want to talk to him like a normal person.”

“My wife was walking to the cage, and I guess he was saying something to her and my manager being the man he is told him to shut his . . . He told him to shut the f*ck up,” Miocic said. “To this day my manager won’t tell me what he said, so I’m going to find out. I’m very good, I’m like the FBI. I will find out what he said and I’m just gonna go up to him and talk to him about it.”

“No, no, no. Listen, I’m a normal guy,” Miocic said. “I’m just gonna go up to him and talk to him, I’m not gonna take his head off. I’m gonna go, ‘Hey man, what’s your problem’…”

Of course, there’s two sides to every story, and we don’t know what or if Covington said anything for sure. But the fact Miocic’s manager won’t tell the champ what was allegedly said, certainly infers Miocic won’t be too happy, if he finds out what went down.

Miocic avenged his 2018 loss to Daniel Cormier at UFC 241, by reclaiming the heavyweight title via a fourth round, stoppage win.
