Angela Lee

The only fighter to hold the ONE female atomweight championship to date has been Angela Lee.

From the inception of the belt in 2016, Lee has sat atop the rankings in ONE Championship.

That reign, though, could be in jeopardy at ONE: CENTURY next month when she puts her title on the line against ONE female strawweight champion Xiong Jing Nan, who bested Lee back in March to defend her own title.

Lee, who now trains in Hawaii with her husband, Bruno Pucci, and her brother, current ONE lightweight champion Christian Lee, has defended the title three times. She earned a submission win over Jenny Huang in her first title defense, and followed that up with another submission, this time vs. Istela Nunes.

History Of The One Female Atomweight Championship

In 2018, Lee again battled Mei Yamaguchi for five rounds, coming out on top. The two also met in 2016 to crown the first-ever division champion.

This will be the toughest test to date for Lee, as she was submitted by Nan in the fifth round at ONE: A NEW ERA. She also fell to Michelle Nicolini a few months later, with that bout also taking place at strawweight.

Lee and Nan will serve as the main event to one of the parts of ONE: CENTURY, an event that celebrates 100 shows for the Asia-based promotion. Brandon Vera challenges for the ONE heavyweight title, Bibiano Fernandes defends his bantamweight belt and both Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson go after titles in grand prix tournaments.
