Elias' Injury Worse Thought

More Changes Abound For RAW, SmackDown With New Rosters, Storylines

With upcoming changes to programming, rosters, storylines and more, it should come as no surprise that WWE officials are planning to mix around the current announce teams for RAW and SmackDown.

According to @Wrestlevotes, the announce teams for both major brands will see significant changes. There is no word yet on what exactly those changes will be, but the return to two-man booths from three could be one of them.

Renee Young, who will be hosting the FOX Sports 1 WWE studio show airing on Tuesday nights, could become solely on SmackDown with the change. SmackDown heads to FOX this coming fall.

Renee Young

Corey Graves is expected to be part of either RAW or SmackDown, but he will not be doing both programs. WWE NXT has already received a change, as Nigel McGuinness was moved from 205 Live to the brand ahead of NXT moving to USA Network.

McGuinness works with Mauro Ranallo and Beth Phoenix on the show, with Aiden English, Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin calling the 205 Live action for now on the WWE Network each and every week.

Several WWE Superstars Battling The Injury Bug

With the schedule that the WWE superstars take on, grinding from city to city and show to show for the better part of 365 days a year, it is no wonder more are not hurt more often.

Elias

Right now, as they prepare for key roster and storyline shifts between RAW and SmackDown, five superstars are faced with key injuries, according to Fightful Select. Elias, Carmella, Samoa Joe, EC3 and Heath Slater have been battling issues.

Elias is rumored to have suffered a serious ankle injury, which would be the reason for his removal from the 2019 King of the Ring Tournament. Shane McMahon took his place against Chad Gable, losing via submission. Gable is now set to meet RAW’s Baron Corbin in the finals.

Carmella’s status is unknown after she posted on social media about a health scare and has been missing from television since. Samoa Joe finds his name with Carmella on the injury list without a return date, while both EC3 and Slater are set to undergo further evaluations soon and could be back in a matter of days.

Tamina Snuka, according to the report, has been cleared to return to action inside the ring after recovering from a concussion. She has been on the sidelines for an extended period recovering.
