Source: Lori Loughlin Fears ‘What’s To Come’ After Felicity Huffman Gets Prison Time

Last week, we reported that “Desperate Housewives” star Felicity Huffman had been sentenced to 14 days in prison and a $30,000 fine for her role in the college bribery scandal. Now, sources are saying Lori Loughlin is in full panic mode. The “Fuller House” actress wonders what Felicity Huffman’s sentence means for her own case.

Loughlin Panics After Huffman Sentencing

“Lori has kept a close eye on Felicity throughout the case and after hearing her 14-day sentence, she’s been incredibly panicked,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “She can’t help thinking, if Felicity received real prison time, what could that mean for her?”

“Lori didn’t believe Felicity should have pleaded guilty but now watching her situation play out, she’s been in fear of what’s to come for her,” the source continued. “Right now, her friends fear the prosecution wants to make an example out of her, not only for the crime she’s been accused of, but her not guilty plea.”

Back in May, Huffman plead guilty to mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. The charges alleged the former “Desperate Housewives” actress paid someone $15,000 to change her daughter’s incorrect answers on the SATs. Meanwhile, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli went a different route. The pair plead not guilty to charges that they paid $500,000 in bribes. The bribes got their two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team. Despite the fact neither girl had ever rowed.

Loughlin Suffers From Nightmares

“Lori has confided in friends that she has nightmares about what’s to come and has been living with constant anxiety,” the insider said. “Lori chose a very different path than Felicity and felt taking a deal was a mistake. She doesn’t believe she deserves jail time.”

“Lori and her husband worked hard this summer to hold their family together, but it’s been very rough,” the source added.

During an August court appearance, a judge decided to allow Loughlin and Giannulli to share the same attorneys. The judge warned that sharing an attorney could be a bad idea. Some legal experts, however, have said it was the right decision for them.

“I think, given the circumstances of what they’re up against with the trial, it’s probably the smartest strategy they have yet because jurors would have to believe both of them are lying,” said lawyer Rachel Stockman.

Lori Loughlin Should Have Plead Guilty

At this point, it seems clear that Loughlin has good reason to panic. It is hard to believe that she will completely dodge jail time given Felicity Huffman’s sentence. If I were her, I’d regret not taking responsibility and pleading guilty in exchange for a lighter sentence. Had Loughlin done that, she might not be in the mess that she has found herself in now.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
