Shane Gillis

Days after the PC police got comedian Shane Gillis fired from “Saturday Night Live,” he tried to appease the PC-obsessed left by telling an extremely offensive joke. To be clear, he mocked the potential assassination of President Donald Trump.

Gillis Is Fired Thanks To PC Liberals

Fox News reported that Gillis was fired this week just days after being cast on “Saturday Night Live” due to the surfacing of YouTube videos in which he used a racial slur while telling a joke about a Chinatown neighborhood. Since being fired, Gillis appeared at The Stand NYC comedy club in New York City. He addressed the backlash he received during a 10-minute standup set.

“It’s been weird,” Gillis said. “Twitter, obviously, has been nuts. You try to stay off it when the whole country hates you. That’s not a fun feeling.”

Gillis Desperate To Prove He’s Not Conservative

The comedian went on to say that after being labeled “a bad guy” people assumed he is “alt-right or something.” Seemingly desperate to prove that he was not conservative in anyway, Gillis went on to mock Trump and his supporters.

“For real, though, I did not vote for Donald Trump,” he said, giving a wink at the audience. “Look at me: I didn’t, but that was tough. His whole campaign was at me. ‘Are you a fat idiot? Yeah, dude, what’re we doing?'”

Gillis Jokes About Trump Assassination

Things got even worse when Gillis attempted to prove that he’s not “too pro-Trump” by telling a joke about the president being shot:

“I don’t want you to think I’m too pro-Trump. I will say this: Of all the presidents I’ve been alive for, Trump would definitely be the funniest one to see get shot. Like, without a doubt, that’d be funny. I’m not asking for that; I don’t want that to happen, but it would be funny to see. He’d be on stage talking (expletive), the shooter would be coming at him, and he’d be like, ‘Sit down.’ He’d definitely make a funny noise when he got hit. … It would be funny.”

It should be noted that when the PC liberal mob grabbed their pitchforks and came after Gillis in the days before he was fired, many of his defenders were conservatives who support free speech and are sick of politically correct culture. Gillis should know by now that nothing he can say will ever convince PC liberals to forgive him. The best way he could pivot from this scandal was to lean into this and switch to telling jokes that a more conservative non-PC audience might appreciate.

Gillis Pathetically Backtracks

Instead, Gillis took the most pathetic route that he could and groveled to the left by trying to join them in fantasizing in the assassination of President Trump. In doing this, all Gillis accomplished is losing the small audience that he had left. PC liberals still hate him because in their eyes, he has been “cancelled” for his “racist” past and therefore should never work again. Now, conservatives also hate him because he has turned his back on them to try to appease liberals by joking about violence against Trump.

Gillis might just want to quit now and give up comedy altogether. Hopefully his local McDonald’s is hiring.
