Chris Jericho and Ryan Niemiller

When you think about America’s Got Talent, the last thing you think about is professional wrestling. However, with the arrival of comedian Ryan Niemiller, professional wrestling and Chris Jericho received a special feature on the popular talent show.

Chris Jericho Appears On Special AGT Finale Segment

Chris Jericho made an appearance in a special segment during America’s Got Talent, supporting Ryan Niemiller, a comedian with a love for professional wrestling and known by the nickname the “Cripple Threat of Comedy.” Neimiller got to live out his dream of becoming a pro wrestler when he chose Jericho to perform with on the show.

“I fell in love with it (pro wrestling) at about age 11. It is like live-action superheroes; you could be whoever you want to be. I picture myself in the ring, lifting 300-pound guys up and slamming them to the ground. There’s no bigger drama than that. It wasn’t going to be like, ‘Oh, here’s another poor handicap guy.’ No, he’s a badass. He’s going to take care of business. If they turn their back on the Cripple Threat I’m going to knock them out, that’s all there is to it.”

During the segment, Chris Jericho submits Ryan Niemiller to a wrestling bootcamp. It involved talking trash to a training dummy and a Simon Cowell cutout. It was hilarious! Of course, to truly appreciate the segment, you will have to watch it yourself.

Unfortunately, Niemiller did not take the win during the America’s Got Talent final. He did, however, take third place. Even though he did not win, he is bound to have a brilliant career in stand-up comedy. Many people have conquered 2nd and 3rd place during the talent show in the past and have become big celebrities afterwards. I, for one, cannot wait to see Niemiller’s future shows.

Perfect Timing For AEW Wrestling

Chris Jericho

The segment on America’s Got Talent could not have come at a better time for Chris Jericho and AEW wrestling. After all, the wrestling promotion is about to hit our television screens through TNT. The premiere of AEW takes place on October 2nd, 2 days before NXT makes its debut on USA Network.

Most wrestling fans are already aware of the impending war between wrestling promotions NXT and AEW. Both promotions received television deals, one on USA Network and the other on TNT. As their launch is only two days apart, the additional promotion on America’s Got Talent is certainly not a bad thing for Chris Jericho and his promotion AEW.

The Future For The AEW – NXT War

NXT and AEW

NXT and AEW are quite evenly matched at this point. Where AEW has a little more star power in terms of known and established wrestlers, NXT has top talent with guys like Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Adam Cole. The production value of NXT might be better, but AEW seems to be a lot less PG than NXT. So, when it comes to making a choice, fans will have a tough time.

Taking the CM Punk approach to the AEW – NXT war might be the best thing. Instead of choosing one promotion, why not watch both? It is an exciting time for wrestling talent, and a wonderful time to be a wrestling fan. While work commitments may make it a little harder to watch everything at one given time, we certainly will not be short of good wrestling TV in the months to come. Who will come out victorious? The answer might be several years away still. All I know is that we will get a bunch of good wrestling because of this competition between two promotions. How could you complain as a wrestling fan?
