Mike Perry has recorded several, wince-inducing stoppages during his career, but recently the UFC shared out one of his most memorable, ahead of his fight today with Vicente Luque.

Perry took out Danny Roberts in his own backyard

After Perry made his Octagon debut in August, 2016, and stopped Hyun Gyu Lim, he agreed to head overseas to Manchester, England, to battle Danny Roberts. At the time, the Liverpool fighter had a ton of momentum behind him, as Roberts was riding a seven-fight winning streak.

“Platinum” reflects on the win

Well, as you can see by watching the video below, Perry battled Roberts into round three, and proceeded to finish the welterweight with a booming knee and follow-up punches. It’s also interesting to hear the 27-year-old Perry’s take on the victory.

There are some similarities between the circumstances tied to the Roberts fight and what Perry is in store for today. In Luque, he’ll face a fighter who has won five in a row, and while Luque is from Brazil, and not Uruguay, it won’t be surprising if the hometown crowd’s behind him.

Here is the complete line-up for UFC Uruguay, which is taking place in Montevideo.
