Khabib

Khabib Nurmagomedov is going to face Dustin Poirier in two week’s time, and in advance of the bout, the UFC’s shared out one of the champ’s most memorable wins.

Nurmagomedov cruised to a victory at UFC 205

That victory was Khabib’s submission win over Michael Johnson at UFC 205, which went down on November 12 in 2016 (that’s the same night Conor McGregor won the lightweight title by taking out Eddie Alvarez). At the time, Nurmagomedov was already regarded as one of the best 155’ers on the planet. But, his rise up the UFC’s lightweight ranks had been halted by injuries.

The undefeated fighter proceeded to dominate Johnson with his takedowns and top game, en route to a third-round, submission win. The fight was also an extremely memorable one, since Khabib could be heard telling Johnson he should give up…

You can check it out below. In Nurmagomedov’s last outing, which went down in October, 2018, he submitted the aforementioned McGregor.
