UFC 241: Nate Diaz’s Disclosed Payout Far Smaller Than Purse For Conor McGregor Rematch

Nate Diaz returned to the cage for the first time since 2016 this past weekend, and his disclosed purse for his bout with Anthony Pettis, was much smaller than what he made in his fight prior.

Diaz’s first bout since his rematch with Conor McGregor

Yes, Diaz fought for the first time in three years at UFC 241 on Saturday, and he earned a decision win over Pettis. Diaz hadn’t competed since his August, 2016 rematch with McGregor, for which he earned a guaranteed $2 million payout, not including pay-per-view dividends.

That bout saw Diaz lose via majority decision, and it followed his submission win over McGregor earlier that same year.

UFC 241 fighter purses

Well, the California Commission has released the fighter purses that were disclosed to the organization by the UFC. Diaz reportedly earned $250,000 for his win over Pettis. Now, that doesn’t include any additional money Diaz may have made due to PPV sales, etc. But, it’s safe to say his payout was much, much lower than what he earned for his rematch with McGregor – one of the biggest fights in MMA history.

Stipe Miocic, who, stopped Daniel Cormier in the headliner of UFC 241, led the way with a guaranteed, $750,000 check. Cormier made at least $500K for the fight.

Here is a complete list of the fighter purses for UFC 241 (via MMA Mania):
