Lori Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade has been laying low on social media since her celebrity parents were arrested in the college admissions bribing scandal, Operation Varsity Blues. The USC co-ed returned to Instagram on Sunday to make obscene gestures towards journalists reporting on the case against both her parents.
Loughlin and her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli were arrested in March. Even though others wrapped up in the college bribery sting, like actress Felicity Huffman, have pleaded guilty, Loughlin and Giannulli are fighting federal prosecutors. The parents are accused of paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to get their two daughters, Olivia and Bella, into USC by claiming they are rowers. As you can imagine, such an accusation has likely been a spot on the celebrity sisters social life. It is now well-known that their parents apparently had little faith they could get into college without massive bribes.
Staying low-key is out of character for Olivia. She’s a top social media influencer and makes a fortune promoting products on platforms like Instagram. Outside of mommy and daddy’s money, social media is her bread and butter. With the exception of a post for Loughlin’s birthday, Sunday’s post was the first one since the scandal broke and it is a doozy.
Olivia shared a photo of herself outside a lavish home giving a “double bird” to journalists reporting on her parent’s case. “@dailymail@starmagazine @people @perezhilton@everyothermediaoutlet #close#source #says” Olivia Jade wrote in the Instagram post below.
Loughlin’s older daughter chimed in by commenting, “Not over you and this. QUEEN.” These girls aren’t used to having to play by the rules. Laws are laws and they are supposed to be respected by all people, including Hollywood celebrities and their spoiled children.
Since her social media silence has been broken, it will be interesting to see if Olivia dials it up a notch and returns to pimping out products on Instagram.
The younger daughter isn’t the only one in the family to take a financial hit over these shocking criminal charges. Not only is Loughlin facing serious jail time, but Hallmark Channel has given her the boot. The actress is a staple on Hallmark Christmas movies, but the cable station can’t take the risk of being tied to such a scandal.
