Are The Street Profits Done In NXT?

The Street Profits To Remain In NXT

During the recent NXT TV tapings, the Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish recaptured the tag titles from The Street Profits. WWE already spoiled the news on their website and stated the episode would air within the next few weeks.

Even though The Street Profits dropped the NXT Tag Team Championships, they are still members of the yellow and black brand according to Dave Meltzer from F4Wonline. This would follow the same pattern that Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have been using for months.

Going back to early July, The Street Profits started appearing on RAW in mostly backstage segments with a few appearances in-front of the live crowd. They have not wrestled on the main roster because the belief is that the would need to lose to superstars from RAW or SmackDown.

There are several reasons why The Street Profits have been featured on TV. WWE wants fans to see some fresh faces and also wants the audience to get familiar with the duo once they are promoted to the main roster. Also, WWE enjoys how Ford and Dawkins are able to bring their comedy to help elevate current programs.

Tony Schiavone Signs With All Elite Wrestling

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) will debut on TV this October as they air on TNT and a familiar name will be present. PWInsider reports that former WCW play by play announcer Tony Schiavone is now a member of AEW. The report continued that at one point, WWE was talking about brining Schiavone in; but, that boat as sailed.

AEW already has a large broadcast team that involves Jim Ross, Excalibur and Alex Marvez. As for backstage interviews, Chris Van Vliet and Alicia Atout will handle those responsibilities. We will have to see what role AEW has for Schiavone.

Besides working for AEW, Schiavone will be allowed to continue his play by play role for Major League Wrestling (MLW). He is currently signed with MLW for two years.

AEW has a busy few months ahead. They will end August with their huge All Out event, where the first AEW World Champion will be crowned, and then they debut Wednesdays on TNT from 8 until 10 PM EST starting October 2.
