Stephen Thompson

After suffering the first knockout loss of his extensive fighting career this past March, Stephen Thompson’s looking to fight before the year is up, and he’s proposed throwing hands with Rafael dos Anjos.

Thompson was taken out by Anthony Pettis in his last outing, in what was one of the most memorable KOs of the year to date. Well, Thompson has taken sometime to recover from the vicious loss, and while on hand at UFC 240 this past weekend, the Karate expert was asked about his next bout. Here’s what Thompson had to say (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“I know me and RDA are both coming off a loss, so might be a good time for him to heal up and maybe make that happen at MSG, so that would be cool.”

That’s not a bad idea huh? Dos Anjos is coming off a loss to Leon Edwards earlier this month, and from a style perspective, RDA – Thompson is very promising.

The UFC’s next, New York City card is scheduled for November 2nd. So, provided dos Anjos doesn’t have any serious injuries, this would give him enough time to recover from the recent loss.
