The Mix brings you Ringside Intel’s recap and results for tonight’s Smackdown Live (7/16/2019) broadcast. Show starts at 8 pm EST. Shane McMahon will host a Town Hall Meeting to hear superstar’s complaints and grievances. Tweet and follow @RingsideIntel on Twitter.
Show opens up with a clip that shows Shane McMahon barring Kevin Owens from the building earlier tonight. Then the scene cuts to the main set, where all the superstars on the roster are congregated on the stage as Shane is in the ring preparing to address them. As Shane begins speaking, the crowd immediately boos him. Shane says he’s decided to hold the first-ever Smackdown Town Hall, and so long as they’re respectful, any of the superstars assembled can come down and say something. Whether it be an adulation or a grievance, they can express whatever they want.
Roman Reigns steps forward after a non-reaction from everyone on the stage. Reigns tells Shane that no one respects him and says he’s not going to be diplomatic with him. Shane looks shocked. Charlotte is next up and she can’t believe Reigns’ attitude. That’s how he repays Shane’s kindness, she says. Liv Morgan walks up to the other mic and tells Charlotte to shut up. Charlotte asks who she is and asks if she even works at WWE. Morgan starts to respond but Shane cuts her off and changes the subject. He addresses Tyler Murphy and talks about how Reigns said something about him.
Murphy replies that he’d love to take a piece out of Reigns if he wants to talk about him. Apollo Crews steps up next and tells Shane that everyone agrees with what Kevin Owens said last week. Zelina Vega grabs the mic and tells Crews she doesn’t like how he’s trying to kiss up to the WWE Universe right now. Then she challenges him to a match on behalf of Andrade, who then steps in and says something ferocious-sounding in Spanish. Elias cuts in and starts to take Shane’s side but New Day interrupts and calls him the greatest *bleep* in history (the word was censored).
Shane tells them to keep it clean. Kofi then gets on the mic and bites into Shane about how he’s taking opportunities from real WWE superstars who have busted their butts to get to this point. Shane responds by saying the Town Hall was a success. It was a first attempt but he thinks it went really well. His music starts to play as he dismisses everyone, but then Cesaro steps down the aisle with a mic. He then challenges Aleister Black to pick a fight with him. Shane tells him that he’ll get his wish tonight. Cesaro vs. Black..
Shane then addresses the crowd and says he’s hopes this event tonight demonstrates a few things… but before he can continue, the crowd starts cheering at the appearance of Owens behind him. Owens hits Shane with a Stunner and then takes off, up through the audience as they cheer for him. Shane is slow to recover in the ring as it cuts to commercial.

Black picks up the victory.
***
Charlotte Flair with the Figure-8 for the tap out.
After the match, Morgan yanks Corey Graves’ headset off and speaks into it. She says Charlotte was right about her being fake, and when she comes back, she’s going to be real.
***
Moon & Bayley pick up the victory.
After the match, Bayley is asked who her opponent for SummerSlam will be. She wants to face Ember Moon, to help bring prestige back to the championship, she says.
***
Orton pins WWE Champ Kofi Kingston, winning the match for his team and making a statement.
Winners:
***
Carmella finds 24/7 Champ R-Truth hiding in a bin and tells him she has a better idea for how he can hide in plain sight. He just has to wear a costume and says they’re going to Comic Con.
***
The IIconics get themselves counted out, so the Kabuki Warriors win but do not win the titles.
After the match, Asuka and Kairi Sane flip out and attack the IIconics, hitting them with their respective finishers and sending the champs staggering up the aisle away from the ring.
***
Andrade attacks Crews before the match can get officially underway. Once Andrade backs off, the ref asks Crews if he still wants to start and he agrees. The match gets underway and ultimately Crews manages to get a surprise roll-up for the 3-count.
***
Ziggler had requested the match earlier, and Shane liked the idea. Owens starts the match explosively and nails Ziggler with a flip over the top rope out on the floor. Back in the ring and Owens goes for a Senton Bomb off the top but Ziggler gets his knees up. Ziggler follows up with a Famouser and gets a long 2-count. He then finds his way into a series of submission holds, as he wears Owens down and keeps him grounded. Ziggler utilizes the 5-count rule and rakes Owens’ face deliberately, digging deep with his nails.
Owens suddenly nails Ziggler with a Superkick and then follows up with a Senton Bomb off the top, landing it this time. Owens looks to finish but then Shane McMahon comes out with a large group of WWE superstars behind him. They all surround the ring and Ziggler seizes on Owens’ distraction by hitting a ZigZag.
He gets a near-fall as Owens gets the shoulder up. Ziggler goes for a Superkick but Owens counters with the Stunner. He pins but Shane pulls Owens out of the ring. Owens then hits Shane with a Stunner and hightails it out of there as the mob of stars chase after him.
Shane is asked how he feels about getting Stunned, not once, but twice tonight. He says Owens is going to pay.
