Randy Orton - Neck Surgery

– Randy Orton is a veteran of WWE and that means dealing with plenty of injuries along the way. While Orton has dealt with problems related to his shoulders, his neck is also not doing too well.

According to the Wresting Observer Newsletter, Orton jammed his neck a few weeks ago against Aleister Black during a live event. The report continued that Orton was told several years ago that he would need to undergo neck surgery and he would miss a year of action. At the time, Orton got a second opinion and was told he did not need surgery; so, he never underwent any operation.

Superstars with neck injuries are often considered to be on borrowed time. We have seen careers end early such as Steve Austin, Edge and Paige because of problems with their neck.

For most of the year, Orton has kept a low profile. He worked against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 35 and his most recent appearance was defeating Triple H at Super ShowDown. With Orton’s 10 year contract expiring shortly, he has hinted about being open to negotiating with All Elite Wrestling or any other promotions that can offer millions of dollars; which is not many pro wrestling companies.

– After basically refusing to return to work after WrestleMania 35, Sasha Banks is rumored for a WWE return at some point during the summer. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted how when Banks and Vince McMahon spoke a few months ago, the impression was that “The Boss” would return. As of now, her future is still listed as “to be determined.”

Banks was recently spotted training in Japan, which has led to speculation about her return being imminent. With her friend Bayley working a program against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross, the storyline seems like the perfect spot for Banks to return. That return could happens at tomorrow’s Extreme Rules.
