Holly Holm Comments on Crushing Loss And Future Following UFC 239

Although Holly Holm came up short in her latest bid to win another UFC title, the legendary fighter's reporting she's "pusing forward".

Since UFC 239 went down, there’s been some speculation about the future of the fighting future of Holly Holm. But, based off comments the legend recently made, it certainly sounds like we’ll see Holm back in the Octagon.

Holm faced Amanda Nunes on Saturday night, and was taken out by the bantamweight champ in the opening round. Since Holm is now 37, and because she’s lost five of her last seven bouts, there was some speculation about the decorated striker’s future. Case in point, after UFC 239, Dana White said that maybe Holm should maybe start considering what’s next.

Well, more recently, Holm reportedly provided this update via social media (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“You know, I always say, I get to live the life of a dream,” Holm said. “I never actually dreamed of getting kicked in the face. It’s never a part of my dream. That’s like part of my nightmare. Living a little nightmare, waking up every morning you’re like, ‘Yup, that’s real. That just happened.’”

“I just want you guys to know I’m feeling good, and I know one thing: I’m still pushing forward,” Holm said. “A lot of a heartbreak right now, but I’m doing fine, and I just want you to know that I appreciate the love and support.”

So, since Holm hasn’t really talked about retiring, these comments shouldn’t come as a surprise. She has had a tough run as of late, but the losses have come against top tier fighters and Holm’s only been stopped due to strikes once.

It’s also good to hear that Holm’s doing well, and it will be interesting to see who and when she fights next.
