Religious freedom just scored a big victory in Texas when Governor Greg Abbott signed the Chick-fil-A bill into law.

Abbott took to Twitter on Thursday night to announce that he signed the bill, which protects religious freedom.

“Today I signed the ⁦@ChickfilA⁩ law in Texas. And, had a great lunch. No business should be discriminated against simply because its owners donate to a church, the Salvation Army, or other religious organization. Texas protects religious liberty,” Abbott wrote.

Daily Caller reported that the bill was drawn up after Attorney General Ken Paxton launched an investigation into San Antonio’s decision to exclude Chick-fil-A from opening a location in the city airport. The plan to open the location had been shot down over outrage that Chick-fil-A donates to Christian groups that some perceive to be anti-LGBTQ.

“The Council was in the process of approving a concessionaire agreement with Paradies Legadere (Paradies) to run concession facilities in the San Antonio airport,” Paxton said. “The Paradies proposal included a license that would bring Chick-fil-A to the airport.”

“The City of San Antonio’s decision to exclude a respected vendor based on the religious beliefs associated with that company and its owners is the opposite of tolerance,” he added. “The city’s discriminatory decision is not only out of step with Texas values, but inconsistent with the Constitution and Texas law.”

Chick-fil-A Targeted By Liberals Over Christian Beliefs

Liberals all over the United States have been trying to boycott Chick-fil-A over the restaurant’s Christian beliefs for years now, but their efforts have failed miserably as the chain was just named America’s favorite restaurant chain for the fourth year in a row. We’re glad to see that the left’s bigoted attacks have failed once again!
