Alita: Battle Angel Star Rosa Salazar Discusses Possibility of Sequel
Rosa Salazar appeared at a Television Critics Assocation reception for her upcoming Amazon Prime series Undone, where she discussed the possibility of an Alita: Battle Angel sequel.
Alita: Battle Angel brought to life the creation of Yukito Kishiro, who originally published the cyberpunk manga series in the early 90s. Thanks to the work of filmmakers James Cameron and Robert Rodiguez, the visually impressive film was able to capture the imagination of audiences across the world.
Now, Alita actress Rosa Salazar makes clear that she’s ready to take on the role once again in a sequel.
Salazar appeared at a Television Critics Assocation reception for her upcoming Amazon Prime series Undone, where she discussed the possibility of an Alita sequel.
Salazar spoke with Slash Film who told them, “I would play Alita ‘til my last breath.” She added, “I would, and thanks to the performance capture technology, I probably could.”
She would then inform them that she hasn’t heard word about a sequel yet, but encouraged fans to show their support for the film by purchasing the Blu-rays. Salazar stated, “Not yet, but buy those Blu-rays.” She added, “On Amazon. But no, I haven’t heard anything yet.”
Salazar would then state that things are still quite hectic at 20th Century Fox which was recently acquired by Disney and that it might not be the most opportune time to buzz Disney’s Alan Horn.
“Yeah, I mean, they had a crazy merger. People are gaining jobs, people are losing jobs. The whole Disney/Fox acquisition is so involved, this isn’t the right time for me to call Alan Horn and be like, ‘Hey bro, I know you got a lotta stuff going on, but like what about Alita 2?’”
