UFC Stockholm: Daniel Teymur Hands Sung Bin Jo His First Defeat

Daniel Teymur ended a three-fight losing skid tonight at UFC Stockholm, by handing the prospect Sung Bin Jo his first defeat.

Teymur came out pressuring while Jo looked to counter. Not long into the fight, Teymur cracked Jo with a hard left hook that stunned the fighter. Jo managed to recover and moments later he grazed Teymur with a knee to the head. Teymur shot in not long after and took Jo to the ground. Jo nicely rolled into an armbar and then a triangle-choke attempt, but Teymur defended. The latter scored with a couple of hard rights from above, but Jo worked his way up-and-out. Before the round ended, Teymur threatened with more winging punches.

Jo threatened with a head kick attempt not long into round two, and Teymur continued to press forward. Neither man fired off much for some time, especially Jo. Teymur ratcheted up his pressure late in the frame, and at one point, he raised his hands in frustration at the lack of action from Jo. The latter came with a flying knee not long after that missed.

Jo fired his jab off a few times to begin round three, and moments later, he shot in for a takedown. Teymur defended, however, and momentarily took Jo down. Not long after, Jo attempted another takedown, but Teymur countered nicely want wound up on top. After going for a kneebar, Jo got back to his feet in the ensuing scramble, and ate a big right-hand moments later. Jo scored with a couple of rights himself, but it was too little too late.
