Chick-fil-A

The state of Texas has launched an investigation into the city of San Antonio after it was claimed that the city was discriminating against Chick-fil-A for the restaurant chain’s Christian beliefs, refusing to let them open a location in their city’s airport. Now, Chick-fil-A has come one step closer to getting justice, as Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against San Antonio as part of this investigation.

The Washington Times reported that Paxton announced today that his office has filed a lawsuit against both the city of San Antonio and its manager Erik Walsh for refusing to turn over public records detailing the decision to ban Chick-fil-A from opening a location in their airport. Paxton firmly believes that San Antonio is discriminating against Chick-fil-A because the chain has made donations to Christian groups that oppose gay marriage.

Paxton’s office stated in the lawsuit that city officials have stonewalled all requests for information that would give more information behind the City Council’s decision to ban Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant in the airport.

“The city of San Antonio claims that it can hide documents because it anticipated being sued,” Paxton said in a statement. “But we’ve simply opened an investigation using the Public Information Act. If a mere investigation is enough to excuse the city of San Antonio from its obligation to be transparent with the people of Texas, then the Public Information Act is a dead letter. The city’s extreme position only highlights its fear about allowing any sunshine on the religious bigotry that animated its decision.”

Liberals have been on a mission to destroy Chick-fil-A because they claim that the restaurant chain is bigoted. The irony behind this is that in making this move, liberals have only exposed their own bigotry against Christians. We can only hope that this lawsuit is successful and that Chick-fil-A gets the justice it deserves going forward.
