UFC Champion Jessica Andrade, Wife Robbed At Gunpoint In Brazil
Andrade became the UFC strawweight champion earlier this month when she finished Rose Namajunas in Brazil.
Jessica Andrade, who claimed the UFC strawweight title earlier this month with a knockout victory over Rose Namajunas, was robbed at gunpoint Thursday in Brazil with her wife, Fernanda Gomes.
According to a report by ESPN, the two were stopped driving their Honda H-RV in Niteroi, Brazil, which is located roughly 25 miles from Rio de Janeiro and the site of Andrade’s win at UFC 237.
“In the end, we are just happy she and her wife are safe,” Andrade’s manager, Tiago Okamura said. “With this kind of situation, things can go south really quick, so good thing it all ended up with just material loss.”
