Stan Lee’s Former Manager Keya Morgan Arrested For Elder Abuse, False Imprisonment, & Embezzlement,
Stan Lee's former manager Keya Morgan was arrested in Arizona. He faces a number of felony charges that include embezzlement, theft, fraud against an elder adult, and more.
A few weeks ago, former manager Keya Morgan was charged with elder abuse, false imprisonment and more by Los Angeles County prosecutors. Morgan was arrested in Arizona on these outstanding charges on Saturday May 25th according to the Associated Press.
The former manager faces multiple felony counts that include embezzlement, theft, fraud against an elder adult, forgery, and the false imprisonment of an elder adult. He also has a misdemeanor count that alleges elder abuse against the comic book legend.
According to authorities, Keya Morgan looked to take advantage of Stan Lee’s wealth as well as to exert influence over the aging Marvel Comics legend.
The AP indicates the police stated that Morgan made $262,000 off of Stan Lee. They indicate this primarily came in the form of autograph signing sessions performed by Lee in May 2018.
Their report also notes that Morgan moved Stan Lee from his home in Hollywood Hills to a condominium in Beverly Hills “where Morgan had more control over Lee.”
This isn’t the first time the former manager has been arrested for crimes related to Stan Lee. In June of last year, Morgan was arrested on suspicion for filing a false report.
Last year, Stan Lee’s daughter, J.C. also requested a restraining order against Morgan. She claimed he was manipulating Lee and preventing him for seeing his family and friends as well as attempting to take over his money and business affairs.

Keya Morgan’s attorney, Alex Kessel, claimed his client never abused or took advantage of Stan Lee.
In a statement, Kessel said he had been in contact with prosecutors to arrange for Morgan to surrender this coming Tuesday. Kessel commented on the arrest, “It is unfortunate that the DA and police did not honor our commitment to surrender next week and arrested him.”
A judge has set Keya Morgan’s bail at $300,000. The former manager will eventually be extradited to Los Angeles in order to face the multiple felony counts and the misdemeanor count against him.
Stan Lee passed away at the age of 95 in November 2018.
