New WWE Power Couple Confirmed + SmackDown Time Slot Confirmed

We’ve discussed the two being a couple previously, but we now have the first social-media-official confirmation of their relationship.

PWInsider reported this morning that, on Sunday, Becky Lynch and Beth Phoenix got into a bit of a Twitter back and forth. Eventually, Beth Phoenix’s husband, WWE Hall of Famer Edge, got involved, which led to this:

For his part, Universal Champion Seth Rollins responded with this picture, which should end the speculation once and for all.

-As we all know by now, SmackDown Live moves to FOX this fall. WWE and FOX signed a lucrative deal last year to move the blue brand.

On Monday, FOX announced that SmackDown Live will come to the network on Friday nights, occupying the 8PM to 10PM time slot. This is somewhat surprising, in the sense that the WWE show will bump a successful show in Last Man Standing, though industry journals confirmed the show is not disappearing.

With the 2019 Television Up Fronts upon us, expect a lot of news pertaining to WWE to come out, as the company has shows on several networks, including USA (Monday Night RAW, Miz and Mrs.) and E!, which features Total Divas and Total Bellas. FOX is no different, with SmackDown Live being the centerpiece.

It will be interesting to see what changes happen to SmackDown by then (new sets? new faces?) and how well the transition does for the company, considering how ratings are an issue.
