New Women's Champion Crowned At Money In The Bank

-As WWE loves to say, the odds were against Becky Lynch coming in to tonight’s Money In The Bank PPV.

Prior to the show, Becky 2 Belts had to defend each belt in a separate match. She was defending the RAW Women’s Championship against newcomer Lacey Evans. She would also be defending the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair.

Lynch was able to successfully defend the RAW title belt, but her luck would not hold up.

Immediately following the conclusion of the first title match, Flair came to the ring to commence the second of Becky Lynch’s two title matches this evening. With some help from Lacey Evans, Charlotte Flair became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.

After the match, the new champ and Evans laid a beating onto Lynch. Newly crowned Miss Money In The Bank Bayley came down to make the opportunistic save.

As a result of the brawl, new champion Charlotte was ripe for the picking. Bayley cashed in her briefcase (the second consecutive year we’ve had a women’s briefcase cash in), and we have our second new SmackDown Women’s Champion of the evening.

Also, assuming WWE wants to officially recognize such an accomplishment, Bayley is the first Women’s Grand Slam winner, holding all three titles a woman can hold on the main roster.

What will be interesting to see is how Bayley’s cash in and win translates into the bigger picture. Specifically, Bayley mentioned Sasha during her post briefcase-winning effort, and Banks did comment about it via social media as well.
