Lori Loughlin Now Estranged From Daughter Olivia Jade

Hours after Felicity Huffman pled guilty to her role in the college admissions scandal, reports came in that indicate that actress Lori Loughlin is still confident that she will avoid prison. And, she is now firmly estranged from her daughter Olivia Jade.

Fox News reported that a source close to Loughlin said that while she has accepted that she could serve jail time, she believes she does not deserve to.

“Lori’s situation has gone from bad to worse. Jail time has always been a possibility, but since more charges were filed her reality [of not serving time] seems grim,” a source close to Loughlin said. “While the fact she could serve time never leaves her mind, she strongly believes she doesn’t deserve to. She truly feels it was all a misunderstanding.”

Could Face 40 Years in Prison

Loughlin and her husband Massimo Giannulli are facing 40 years in prison for paying $500,000 in bribe money to have each of their two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California. Olivia, who was a popular social media influencer before the scandal broke, now is furious with her mother because she thinks her life and business were”ruined” thanks to Loughlin.

Things got so bad between Loughlin and Olivia that they even tried going to therapy. However, this did not salvage their relationship.

“[Olivia] feels this could have all been avoided had her mother listened to her when she expressed she wasn’t interested in going to college,” the source stated. “The fact she has lost her business deals and can’t go out in public without being photographed and scrutinized is a constant reminder of what her mother has done.”

Loughlin Thinks She Should Not Be Punished

From the very beginning, Loughlin has made it clear that she sees herself as above the law and feels like she should not be punished at all for what she did. If she can’t even admit that bribing her daughters into college was an immoral thing to do, then perhaps prison is the best place for her. Maybe spending some time behind bars will bring Loughlin back down to Earth and let her know that she really isn’t better than anybody else at all.
