Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman was meant to be the main attraction in the WWE, yet the company seems to be pulling back from Strowman at the moment. Instead, Braun has been stuck in less meaningful segments and is far from the title picture he used to be in. Does this mean the company is souring on Strowman?

Braun Strowman Suffering Poor Bookings

Braun Strowman

One does not have to look at the WWE product very long to determine that Braun Strowman has been put on the background. While he used to be in the title picture most of the time, now he is kept on the mid-card. Naturally, this is quite strange, especially when you consider the overall physique and impressiveness of the Strowman character.

During an episode of PWInsider Elite Audio, Mike Johnson made some statements about the situation, indicating that Vince McMahon and his management are the reason for Braun’s current position.

“There have been times when Vince was ready to pull the trigger and then something happens behind the scenes just by the way Braun Strowman carries himself or maybe he’s a little late or just at times that he’s his own worst enemy with how he presents himself and Vince takes a step backward.”

“I just think he’s at the point now where Vince sees him as a walking mascot for the company more than he sees him as a top guy. So he’s kinda like a modern-day 911 for ECW vs being seen as a franchise player for the company.”

Plenty Of Victories, But No Real Title Reign

Braun Strowman

It is quite interesting that Braun Strowman has had a number of important victories over the past couple of years. In fact, he had major wins at the Greatest Royal Rumble, the 2018 Money in the Bank ladder match, and the 2019 Andre The Giant Battle Royal. While those wins would normally indicate a trust in the athlete in question and a possible brilliant future, Strowman has not received any serious title reign.

“Multiple sources have reported that Strowman is negligent at times when it comes to showing up to work on time, according to PWInsider. Strowman reportedly also has a reputation of being one who leaves a little early and it’s said that sometimes he makes mistakes in terms of etiquette backstage in the locker room. Another source noted to PWInsider that Braun is ‘his own worst enemy and his worst advocate.”

While the backstage attitude of Strowman has been in the news before, there is no real proof that he has been anything but pleasant towards fans. However, there has been talk that Strowman has botched a couple of spots in important matches, which could explain the current role of Strowman. Still, Strowman has been quite willing to talk to fans when he is out and about, which certainly contributes to his popularity among the universe. While we are unlikely to hear the exact reasons why Strowman has been put in the background, it is undoubtedly a waste of talent and potential at this point in time.
