Hollywood is in mourning this week after the death of “The Carol Burnett Show” star Tim Conway, who tragically passed away on Tuesday at the age of 85. Now, details about the final months of Conway’s life have been revealed, and they have fans feeling even more sad.

Daily Mail reported that Conway’s wife Charlene and daughter Kelly, who he had with a previous wife, were in a legal dispute over his care in the final months of his life. Last August, Kelly filed court documents requesting to be named her father’s conservator and to take control of his treatment. In addition, Kelly asked a judge for a restraining order against her stepmother Charlene.

Kelly reportedly filed the documents because she disagreed with Charlene’s decision to “move [Tim] out of the excellent skilled nursing facility he is currently at” and have him placed somewhere without “registered nurses at all times and his 24-hour caregiver and speech therapist [to help with swallowing].” Kelly added that Conway, who suffered from dementia, was “almost entirely unresponsive” and could no longer “properly provide for his personal needs for physical health, food, and clothing.”

Charlene fired back by claiming that Kelly relied on a false medical record and violated her father’s right to medical privacy. The dispute was settled back in March with Kelly being appointed as Conway’s conservator after a judge ruled that the star did in fact need one. Kelly released a statement after the ruling saying that she was “very happy with the outcome after more than a year of fighting to keep her dad safe and sound.”

“She is now allowed to see him and is permitted to meet with Tim’s healthcare professionals,” her statement continued.

It’s sad that Conway’s final months were filled with so much turmoil in his family, but it’s a comfort to know that he is at peace now. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to mourn him.
