Rumors have been running rampant this week that Meghan Markle has already secretly given birth to her first child with Prince Harry. Now, in an unprecedented move, Buckingham Palace has issued a statement to shut these rumors down.

Fox News reported that a spokesman for the palace said, “The baby hasn’t been born yet.” Palace officials also denied that they had created web pages for the royal baby after fans began testing various baby names in the official website’s search bar.

“A large number of search term redirects were set up some time ago on royal.uk,” the palace said. “This was in order to improve user experience.”

Speculation has been mounting over whether or not the royal baby has been born ever since the palace revealed that Meghan and Harry will not be announcing the birth as soon as it happens.

“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private,” the palace said. “The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

This comes after Daily Mail reported that Prince Harry has canceled the first day of his trip to The Netherlands next week, indicating to many that the royal and his wife are having to wait longer than expected for their child to be born.

“Due to the logistical planning for the travelling press to cover visits and engagements by The Royal Family, we have taken the decision to postpone The Duke of Sussex’s scheduled visit to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8th May 2019,” a spokesman for Harry said. “The Duke is currently scheduled to travel to The Hague on Thursday 9th May for the launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 as planned.”

Regardless of when the child is born, we just hope the baby is healthy and that the birth goes smoothly. Please keep Meghan in your thoughts and prayers as she prepares to give birth!
