Dana White

We haven’t heard much about ZUFFA boxing in recent weeks, if anything at all, so you may have been wondering whether Dana White’s plans to enter the business have been punted. But, the UFC President has provided an update on his plans for the sweet science.

Recently White spoke with CNN, and while doing so, he took some jabs at how boxing’s top heavyweights are being promoted. When asked about his own plans for the sport, via ZUFFA boxing, White reported this (quote via MMA Mania):

“I am making all my boxing moves after this summer,” White said. “When this summer is over, you’ll be hearing a lot about what I’m doing in the sport of boxing.”

So, it will be interesting to see what happens here, and whether White allows any UFC fighters to compete for ZUFFA boxing, if the company actually gets off the ground.

The month of July is typically a big one for the UFC, as the promotion hosts International Fight Week, before holding what historically has been a massive PPV card.

This year it will be UFC 239, July 6th, which will feature Jon Jones defeating the 205 title against Thiago Santos in the headliner. Amanda Nunes will look to defend the bantamweight title against former champ Holly Holm in the co-main event.
