Tony Ferguson

Nothing’s been announced yet, but Tony Ferguson is reporting that he’s been offered a fight. In fact, “El Cucuy” says the offer came in last week.

Recently it was reported that Ferguson’s wife had filed for a restraining order against the lightweight, due to allegations that he was behaving erratically. Since then, however, the UFC’s former interim champ reported that he’s passed a medical evaluation.

More recently, the talented fighter shared out this (warning: explicit language):

I Was Offered A Fight Last Week Before #UFC236. Guess Who? That Means I Don’t Need Additional Clearance. Bring It On – Champ Shit Only

So, it will be fascinating to see if anything comes of this. Now that Dustin Poirier is going to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov later this year, one would think that Ferguson’s only inline to face another top tier, 155’er, like, say Conor McGregor or Justin Gaethje.

The #4 ranked Al Iaquinta is set to fight Donald Cerrone on May 4th.

Ferguson hasn’t fought now since October, 2017, when he tapped out Kevin Lee to win the interim belt.
