Smackdown Live: 8 pm EST

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston comes out to be interviewed by Michael Cole. They talk about Kofi’s WrestleMania moment, winning the title, and the crowd chants “You deserve it!” Then they talk about how Kevin Owens double-crossed him last week. Kofi says that people told him he should have seen this coming. But he believes people should be given the chance to change. Kofi believed he could change, but that was not the case. All Owens needed to do was ask if he wanted a title shot, Kofi says. Owens told Kofi, as he was stepping on his head, that he was doing it for the title. And Kofi says that Owens should get that shot at Money In The Bank.

Owens’ music hits and he comes out to the main stage. He tells Kofi, “Challenge accepted.” Owens admits Kofi did give the WWE Universe an amazing WrestleMania moment. But Kofi is not championship material, Owens says. As Owens is talking, Xavier Woods runs out to attack Owens for his insult but Owens leaves him laid out in the aisle with a superkick and then runs away. Kofi runs to his friend’s aid and helps him up.

Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz come out to the ring. The interviewer asks Jeff Hardy about his apparent injury, and they show a clip of Lars Sullivan’s attack on them. Jeff says he’s unable to walk on his own because of Sullivan, and he’s going to be out of action for “long time.” Matt Hardy reluctantly says that they will have to vacate the tag titles as a result. Jeff says it kills him that he’s the reason they can’t even defend the title, but adds that they will be back.

Lars Sullivan’s music hits and he comes out with a vicious look on his face. He knocks Matt out of the ring and then turns his sights to Jeff. Matt manages to get back in the ring and prevent Sullivan’s approach. Once again, Sullivan turfs Matt out of the picture. Sullivan turns to Jeff, who now holds his crutch in hand ready to swing. But then R-Truth appears from behind and lands a chair shot to Sullivan’s back. Sullivan merely seems slightly annoyed by this, and he punches the chair clean out of Truth’s hands.
