Last year, Nikki Bella challenged Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship. Despite a good match, Bella came up short against the former UFC-champion and Ronda retained her title. Shortly after the match, Nikki Bella retired from wrestling again.
Nikki Bella has now revealed that she struggled considerably at the time of the Evolution pay-per-view. In fact, she now claims she returned too soon.
Feeling Depressed and Sad
During The Bellas Podcast, Nikki revealed she felt depressed and sad during her return in 2018. She mentioned she felt she returned too soon after her breakup from WWE megastar John Cena. According to Bella, she forced a smile on her face every time she had to come out to the ring. However, she claimed she could cope better once she turned heel and was no longer forced to smile.
“When I came back to wrestle for WWE Evolution storyline, and we didn’t get a chance to discuss it in detail on Total Bellas, but it was really hard on me because of having a breakup.”
“I felt like I went back way too soon, and every week I was so depressed and miserable, and every time I entered that arena I had to force a smile on my face.”
”I was just so sad because the person that was the love of my life.”
Moving on With Artem Chigvintsev
Since her difficult breakup from John Cena, Nikki Bella has been dating again. One of the most notable guys she has been seeing is none other than Artem Chigvintsev, her former dance partner on Dancing With The Stars. However, Nikki Bella has stated the pair are not yet official.
After posting a lovely photo of herself and Artem on Instagram, several media outlets picked up the story and claimed Artem and Nikki were officially a couple. During an interview with People magazine, Bella did mention they were not official, and were just having fun.
“I posted a photo of us because we’re dating and we’re having fun.”
While Nikki Bella claims she is not fully taken, her sister Brie told her that putting such a photo on Instagram makes it official. Still, fans could pretty much see the dating angle on Total Bellas.
Moving on might not be so easy for Nikki though, as John Cena is now dating again, too. In fact, he is claimed to be dating Shay Shariatzadeh. Interestingly, John is not dating a fellow wrestler or celebrity, as his new woman is an engineer.
As far as we know, the relationship between Shay and John is not yet official. It is known that the pair have been on multiple dates recently. Still, no official statement has been made from the John Cena camp regarding his love life. They are keeping things under wraps.
