Monday Night Raw (4/15/2019): Recap & Results

Monday Night Raw: 8 pm EST

Shane and Stephanie McMahon come out to begin the Superstar Shakeup. The two of them banter a bit and insult the crowd, drawing boos. Before they can continue, however, The Miz runs out and attacks Shane McMahon and they start to brawl around the ring area. Miz ends up driving Shane into retreat with a steel chair and he talks trash as blood trickles down his face from a cut somewhere on his head.

8-Man Tag Team Match: Raw Tag Champs Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, Ricochet & Aleister Black vs. The Revival & The Viking Experience

The Viking Experience makes their debut, coming up from NXT. They end up hitting a team maneuver on Curt Hawkins to secure the 3-count.

Winners: The Revival & The Viking Experience

Singles Match: Intercontinental Champ Finn Balor vs. Andrade (with Zelina Vega)

Andrade is making his Raw debut and he is accompanied by Zelina Vega. Vega interferes and makes the difference, as Andrade ultimately spikes Balor with a Hammer-Lock DDT for the pinfall.

Winner: Andrade

Elias is in the ring and he gets angry about how he always gets interrupted. The crowd boos him and he berates them back, saying if they keep it up it’ll be the last time he performs on Raw. Rey Mysterio ends up running out, as a new addition to Raw, and he drives Elias off. Then Lars Sullivan comes out and puts a beating on Mysterio.

Bobby Roode & Chad Gable come out to the ring to cut a promo. They talk about the Superstar Shakeup and announce that the invitation is open; they’ll take on all comers. The Usos’ music hits and they come out to the ring. The crowd goes wild over this new edition to Raw after the Usos have been on Smackdown for so long.

Tag Team Match: The Usos vs. Bobby Roode & Chad Gable

The Usos hit a dual Frog Splash off opposite top turnbuckles, crashing down onto Gable for the 3-count.

Winners: The Usos

Alexa Bliss comes out for A Moment of Bliss. Her guest tonight is Sami Zayn, who has just returned after a 10-month layoff due to rotator cuff surgery. Zayn gets an enormous reception from his hometown crowd of Montreal. The crowd sings along to his entrance music fervently, and because of the huge response, his music continues to repeat over and over, prolonging the celebration as Zayn dances around and the crowd sings enthusiastically. Then finally, Bliss gets to her interview. Zayn talks about how good it is to be back home. He loves Montreal, great city, he says. Zayn says the only thing he doesn’t like is the people.

Zayn goes back and forth with the crowd and has them all riled up. Bliss tries to stand up for the fans and tells Zayn the problem isn’t the people, it’s him. Zayn tells Bliss that he may have been born here, but these are not his people. Zayn tells the crowd that he CHOSE to move to Florida where it’s nicer, just like he’s going to choose to leave right now.

The crowd has completely turned on Zayn at this point, and they sing “Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye” as he leaves.

Tag Team Match: Women’s Tag Champs The IIconics vs. Bayley & Naomi

Naomi gets an ovation, as she is making the jump from Smackdown to Raw. Naomi levels Billie Kay with a kick and gets the pinfall.

Winners: Bayley & Naomi

Singles Match: Braun Strowman vs. EC3

Strowman simply mauls EC3 and ends up chokeslamming him through the stage.

Singles Match: Double Women’s Champ Becky Lynch vs. Ruby Riott

Becky slaps a Disarm Her on Ruby and forces her to tap out.

Winner: Becky Lynch

After the match, the rest of the Riott Squad attacks Becky but Becky dispatches them each with a Becksploder suplex. But then Natalya comes out to the ring to face Becky. She tells Becky that she wanted to look her in the face and tell her she’s coming for those titles. Becky is about to agree to a match, but then Lacey Evans comes out and calls Nattie a has-been. Lacey says that now she’s finally on the main show, she’s coming for those titles. She steps down to the ring for a match against Natalya to determine who will get the shot.

Singles Match: Natalya vs. Lacey Evans

Lacey puts in a gutsy performance and ends up winning with a big Moonsault off the top rope. She will face Becky for the championship.

Winner: Lacey Evans

6-Man Tag Team Match: Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin & Bobby Lashley vs. Roman Reigns, Universal Champ Seth Rollins & AJ Styles

Styles makes the surprise jump from Smackdown to Raw and the crowd goes wild. Styles hits a Phenomenal Forearm on Bobby Lashley for the pinfall finish.

Winners: Roman Reigns, Universal Champ Seth Rollins & AJ Styles
