Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum were pretty respectful towards one another leading up to UFC 236, and that appears to be continuing, following their jaw-dropping, war.

The middleweights threw down in the co-headliner of UFC 236 on Saturday, and Adesanya went on to win the interim title via decision. The scrap was one of the most thrilling and memorable title fights in recent history.

Well, since the event, Gastelum shared out this classy, respectful statement, in which he congratulated Adesanya on the win.

I left it all out there. @stylebender was the better man last night ! Congratulations to him. I know our paths will cross again! This set back as well as all my other setbacks have made me a better person and mixed martial artist. One thing about me , is I always come back stronger after each loss!! I can’t wait for the future! I’m 27 and We’re only getting started! To God be all the glory for all his blessings because he is good ALL the time! The mission 4 Gold continues! See you around folks! #OnAmission4Gold

It will be interesting to see when and who Gastelum faces in his next bout. He took a loss at UFC 236, but few would likely argue that his stock’s never been higher.

UFC 236 took place in Atlanta, Georgia.
